Our BIP is not only to help Domestic Violence (DV) offenders to fulfill their court mandated requirements but more importantly
Increase their accountability to take responsibility for their actions.
Increase their willingness to change their abusive behaviors by understanding the negative effects it has on their relationships, their loved ones and themselves.
In China, domestic violence cases often are viewed as private matters with very little or no police involvement. As a result, many Chinese immigrants have been getting in trouble due to inadequate knowledge of the United States legal system.
Using the “Duluth Model, we educate the participants about different types of abusive and controlling behaviors. Our experienced licensed facilitators incorporate different cultural values, beliefs, and rules for social behaviors into the program curriculum based on each participants’ needs to examine their belief system and the causes of their violent acts. They teach the participants how to develop alternative skills to avoid using abuse and violence on others.
This is a fee-based program which includes an intake session and a 26-weeks session held in the Chinese language only.
